Chancellor Dynes’s Campus Growth Communiqué Series

UCSD Chancellor Robert C. Dynes has launched a new series of internal communiqués on plans for managing the coming decade of unprecedented campus growth.

Titled "A New Dialogue for a New Era," the series will give UCSD faculty, students, and staff regular updates on issues and initiatives pertaining to future growth. The inaugural communiqué was released by Chancellor Dynes on March 9.. The rest of the series will give each Vice Chancellor an opportunity to update the campus on plans for managing growth in his/her area.

The series also is part of a campaign to encourage real dialogue between UCSD’s leadership team and the campus community. To that end, the Chancellor is encouraging faculty, students and staff to visit his Website at http://www-chancellor.ucsd.edu, which features a "Letters to the Chancellor" link. Excerpts from a wide selection of letters received by Chancellor Dynes will be published on the Website to provide an ongoing campus community forum of ideas and viewpoints.

The Chancellor’s March 9 communique is now available. The next communiqué in the series will be published by Joseph Watson, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs. Campus growth issues also will be addressed by the Chancellor in his state-of-the-campus addresses on March 22 on the main campus and on March 30 at Health Sciences.
