California Facts:
• In California, one of our special license plate choices was designed by Wayne Thiebaud. The yearly extra registration fee we pay for the plates goes toward the arts. Joan Benedetti has the most applicable plate for this conference. If I had known about it, it would have been our logo!!!
• The wildflowers should be extraordinary in the desert next week because we had a lot of rain out there late in the season. If you'll be renting a car, if you call 760-767-4684, you'll get the latest on the best locations. If you go, be prepared to walk. To survive in the desert, many of these flowers are *very* tiny -- you go out in a field to see them & have to look closely
