All available student reserved positions are posted in the window outside the Personnel office in the Geisel Library. Due to the freqeucy of posting and high number of applicants, these positions are not posted on the Library Web Page. However, all the open student jobs are posted up to the minute on line at the Port Triton http://career.ucsd.edu/ . You will need to visit the Career Services Center to register as a user.

A student position can be valuable to your career for many reasons:

• These are real jobs with valid work history. Often when recruiters are interviewing multiple candidates, a person with a solid work history and proven reliability along with increased responsibility will be selected over other candidates.
• On-campus jobs tend to be more flexible with scheduling around class time.
• Student jobs are a great way to get acquainted with the expectations of the working world.
• An excellent reference and recommendation from your supervisor can prove to be invaluable when you're going for your first post-graduation job.

Spending time with the Career Services Center can give you an edge over standard Job Fairs since Career Services has found employers who are eager to hire UC Graduates.
