NASIG 2000 Arrival Information

San Diego Skyline

We are down to the final stretch for the 15th annual NASIG Conference in San
Diego. It's hard to believe that we are just two weeks away. A large batch
of confirmation letters were mailed late last week, so if you have not
received yours by tomorrow or Friday, please contact Joanne Donovan
jdonovan@ucsd.edu , our NASIG Registrar, to make sure that you are really
registered. At last count we have 693 people registered.

The best way to get to the UCSD Warren College Conference Center from
Lindbergh Field is to proceed to the Transportation Plazas across from
Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 via the "skybridges". Look for the Customer
Service Representative in the red coat and tell him that you are attending
NASIG at UCSD and you want a Cloud 9 shuttle. Cost should be $12 each way
per person. If you should find yourself at the plaza with 5 other NASIG
bound persons, ask Cloud 9 for an "exclusive rate" which can save up to $4
per person off the fare.

Cloud 9 knows the location of the Warren College Conference Center and
should bring you to the shuttle stop located adjacent to the registration
area. Staff will be available to issue apartment keys until midnight on
Wednesday, June 21. Should your arrival be delayed beyond midnight, there
is a phone and a posted number to call at the registration desk, and a
person will come over and register you at any hour of the night.

If you are arriving by car and staying in the Warren Apartments, please
request a parking permit at the time that you check into your room. If you
are staying off campus please plan to purchase a daily permit ($6 per day)
at one of the entrance kiosks on Thursday and Friday. Parking is free on
Saturday and Sunday. Please note, if you are staying off campus you will
need to arrange your own transportation to and from campus. NASIG will not
be providing hotel shuttle service.

All for now. The weather this week has been glorious, sunny and in the low
70's. I'll let you know the forecast for NASIG as the time gets closer.

Feel free to drop me a line if you have any additional questions.--Karen
